In Genoa, Plantalia was projected on a monumental 150-square-meter screen positioned 120 meters high, overlooking the city. The installation was part of the project Echoes of the Mediterranean, where the plants appeared as luminous presences, suspended between the urban skyline and the sea. By projecting Plantalia in such a visible and public space, the work transcended the confines of traditional exhibition settings, engaging passersby in an unexpected visual encounter with botanical forms that are often invisible or forgotten in daily life.
The choice of Genoa, a city historically shaped by maritime routes, botanical gardens, and global trade, further amplifies the resonance of Plantalia. The city’s layered history of exchange, migration, and environmental transformations becomes a backdrop for a reflection on the circulation of plant species, the erosion of biodiversity, and the need for new forms of ecological awareness.
